What is Graduate and Professional Student DeStress and Appreciation Week?
In 1993, activists within the National Association of Graduate-Professional Students (NAGPS) established a cooperative initiative called National Graduate & Professional Student Appreciation Week to recognize the contributions, impact, and value of graduate and professional students across the nation’s campuses during the first week of April.
At Rutgers University–New Brunswick, the Office of Graduate Student Life collaborates with Student Affairs, the Graduate Student Association, and many campus partners to provide various programs and opportunities to destress and appreciate our graduate and professional students. These programs hope to connect graduate and professional students across cohorts, disciplines, abilities, cultures, and the socio-economic divide. There is something here for everyone. Most programs are in-person and some are virtual programs via Zoom. DeStress and Appreciation week aims to relieve some of the collective challenges graduate and professional students are facing today.
We hope you are able to take some time out of your busy schedule to take advantage of our in-person and virtual events! Please encourage your fellow graduate students to join us during the many opportunities available.
Stay tuned for 2023 Events and Programs!
